Woohoo!  Spring
break has begun!  Let the partying commence … right after I take a
good long nap, clean my house, go grocery shopping, desludge the
fishies, finish my report cards, send my tax return …

Speaking of taxes, I finished my taxes and was pleasantly surprised to
find that my refund was much larger than I expected … larger to the
point that I double and triple checked it.  I was practically
jumping for joy and so grateful to the IRS until I realized, “Hey, wait
a minute!  It’s my own money that they’re giving back to me …
not some kind of gift.  They’ve been earning interest on my money
all year long!”    Hmpf!

Quotes of the day:

The wages of sin are death, but after they take the taxes out, it’s more like a tired feeling, really.  ~Paula Poundstone

I’m
proud to pay taxes in the United States; the only thing is, I could be
just as proud for half the money.  ~Arthur Godfrey

  1. I feel exactly the same “my money” so give it back! And are you CRAZY!? Don’t do all that work on your Spring break, do it Monday after school, or sometime next week. Whether you call it Spring break or Easter Vacation it’s all the same…break and vacation being the operative words. So the only two approved things on your list are the very first and the last. Take a nap and mail your taxes…lol, and the partying can’t leave off the partying! I hope your week off is just wonderful!!

  2. Enjoy Spring Break!   I too have to remind myself about the tax refund being MY money to begin with…then I get irritated that I could’ve had that money all year. Well, at least that large lump sum looks really good when being deposited in the account.
