Happy Thanksgiving!
I have come here many times in the past few weeks wanting to write, but I have found that everything that comes out on the page sounds whiny. I am facing challenges right now and struggling to keep a positive outlook. As tempting as it is to dump everything out here, I think it would be counterproductive … hence my long hiatus. When I figure out how to share what’s been going on in my life without the whining, I’ll definitely post.
But, in the meantime, I am here reading and commenting when I can.

Quotes of the Day: We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures. ~Thornton Wilder
Thanksgiving dinners take eighteen hours to prepare. They are consumed
in twelve minutes. Half-times take twelve minutes. This is not
coincidence. ~Erma Bombeck
As for what I am thankful for this year, that would have to be my students. Remarkably, they are what’s keeping me sane right now, and I am so blessed to be able to spend my days with them … and get paid for it, no less.
I am grateful for their laughter, their enthusiasm for life and learning, and their love.
My mom is making Rachel Ray’s Thanksgiving recipes this year instead of our own traditional dishes. We’re all a little bummed about that, but if she’s doing the cooking, we have no right to complain, eh?
I’ll let you know how it goes. I’m contributing my famous salad, so I got off easy this year.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!! I hope yours is great! :o)
happy thanks to u2!
I hope your thanksgiving was happy as well… MKD asked me a couple weeks ago who the hell Rachael Ray was because he kept seeing her on all the magazines… he said, “I don’t know her, and already she’s annoying.”
happy day to you sister … ahhh i am fine yet tired and resting today… my friday is usually the day with my pei yet he is with his son since it is holiday… i am learning to be alone on holidays now… and since all the holidays are coming up this will be a time to really learn to just be with me…
hope all is well and i leave you warmth and LOVE
LOVE is… truly it is…
A few years ago when I worked at a bookstore I was introduced to Rachael Ray by her face on cookbooks, and I thought she was cute. That’s before she became ubiquitous (ah, one of those words I just love to have an excuse to use). But I hope it was a good dinner.I’m glad that even if you haven’t felt inclined to write, that you tracked me down. Yes, I went over there again because they introduced domain name mapping, so now I can use jasonwrites.com for that blog, and any pages I added to it would follow… like jasonwrites.com/about, etc. So I hope you’ll continue to visit. As far as the career goes– people have said that I have far too much on my plate for a first-year teacher– four kids at home, one with special needs, et. al. So this year is going to “make me or break me”… I am determined for it to be the former… but there’s times I already feel broken. I’m grateful to have this break, but I’m still having to grade everyday– and I’m not sure I can finish what I promised the kids I’d return on Monday.
Thank you so much for the Thanksgiving wishes….I hope your day brought you happiness of heart…and tummy too….even if Rachael Ray broke in on tradition, lol. I made my first ever pumpkin pie…even roasted my own pumpkins and the seeds..and I had so much fun….wish I could send a piece right to you…or better…you were close enough to come hang out and help. Even if I am not around “here”….I am always here for you if you need me…you were definitely counted among my blessings! Take care of you : )
I just wanted to tell you that what you said on my “charlie brown” post was one of the nicest and most meaningful things anyone has ever said to me…thank you so much for that…..and just so you know….the banana bread was already without nuts, lol….go figure : )
